TOPIC: HUMAN RIGHTS
ISSUES: the increasing violation of fundamental human rights, discrimination faced on the basis
OUR PROJECT:
The outcome of this group project is to establish an understanding of how universal our fundamental human rights are, how it’s violations and limitations have been increasing around the globe and why our individual civil rights are more important than national sovereignty, religious sentiments or social stability. We’re very aware of the current social context regarding this topic and want to explore the different cultural perspectives concerning issues such as gender inequality, repression of civil rights, religious fundamentalism, intolerance and extremism, and discrimination faced by minority groups around the world.
We decided to use graphic communication as our medium and designed posters, brochures, leaflets, a PowerPoint presentation, a website and some artwork. Our research methods will include both primary and secondary data. We’ll collect our primary data, through interviews and surveys/questionnaires with local people and people living in other countries where their rights are suppressed, to delve into these issues from different perceptions. We’ll use the internet as well and carry out an online session with people from different parts of the world, to know their thoughts on this topic.
